The list of restricted items includes:
Fire arms and ammunition
Wood furniture or household goods made from wood, wooden frames for paintings, photograph, mirror and similar objects
Coins - platinum, gold, silver, precious stones; jewelry; and other valuable articles
Saccharine and similar substances and articles containing them
Tobacco packed with other merchandise; tobacco sweetened with leaves of other plants.
Peanut butter, jam, jellies, pasta, wheat flour, rice, peppers and pepper sauces, beer, alcohol, spirits, carbonated beverages, cigarettes, products made of wood, pharmaceutical medicines, pesticides, telecommunication equipment, certain gases and chemicals deemed harmful to the environment, and fuel. Beans and rice, like many other locally produced agricultural products, may not be imported if there is a surplus on the domestic market. Goods containing ephedrine and pseudoephedrine are prohibited. Yes, a customs form consists of all the relevant information about your package. This will include what you are shipping, where you are shipping to , and why you are shipping your package. We will help you make sure your forms are completed accurately and your package is ready for a trip through customs.
Customs duties and taxes are collected based on the transaction value which is derived from the value stated on the invoice (once authenticated), receipt or other proof of purchase. The dollar value must be converted from the foreign currency stated on the proof of purchase document to Belize Currency (BZD). The Belize currency is tied to the US dollar at $2.0175 BZD to $1.00USD. Other foreign currency rates are subject to change and is updated weekly in conjunction with the Central Bank of Belize.
